The Martin Museum of Art is excited to host a special Valentine’s Day event in connection with The Neoclassical Gaze, which will include Torchlit Guided Tours, Valentine printmaking, live music, and hors d’oeuvres. During the height of Dresden’s popularity in the nineteenth century, Wilhelm Gottlieb Becker, the publisher of the Augusteum, personally led tours of the “Collection of Antique and Modern Sculptures” for visitors by torchlight, while wearing dark and heavy robes for dramatic appeal. Such spectacle of centuries ago will be brought to life for guests of the Martin Museum as we recreate this theatrical experience through our Torchlit Tours.
Special Torchlit Tours, Thursday, February 14, will be held at 5:30 p.m., 6:00 p.m., 6:30 p.m., and 7:00 p.m., with a maximum of only 20 visitors per tour. Reserve your spot today! Patrons will also be able to print their own Valentine’s Day cards for that special someone. This event is sure to be a fun-filled, and free, date night! So, don't miss out!
Admission is free, but registration is required! Register now!
